Just started this Blog. I am really not invested in the Blog yet but thought it might be fun as well as a part of life's journey. For a smidgeon on info, my wife Sheila and I have recently moved to Wiscasset Maine from Nashville Tennessee. The last number of months we have spent most of our time working on our new home in Wiscasset.
On August 7 or so I did start a small vegetable garden so we could have some frest produce in the fall. That was a successful venture and harvested lettuce, radishs and some greens. Since one of our dreams is to have a small organic farm this small garden got us started in the right direction
More later,

I noticed that I have not updated for close to a year. I must do better and will.
2ceIt is now December 19, 2009 and have still not done much on my blog. I am seriously considering using this blog to distribute my writings about the food security effort in Nashville and the formation of the Food Security Partners of Middle Tennessee. We shall see!
It is now August 22, 2013 and have decided it is now time to get this document into print. I will do so in monthly installments.

FOOD SECURITY IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
When I left Tennessee I decided, and was urged by others, to write some kind of document detailing the development of the food security effort in the Nashville area in general and the formation of the Food Security Partners of Middle Tennessee (FSPMT) in particular. Since we started that effort the FSPMT has merged with MANNA to become the Community Food Advocates Since then I have written close to two hundred pages describing that effort and have organized photos, newspaper articles and other supporting materials including interviews that describe that effort in detail.
I have decided to serialize my writings on the Internet for people to see and read, comment on, add to, perhaps delete some of, so we will more fully realize the goal of a more accurate record of that effort.
Periodically I will post sections of the document for your perusal and review and ask for your input and comment. I am especially interested in hearing from people who did some food security work in Nashville or Middle Tennessee in the 1990’s and very early 2000’s. As I get additional information I will incorporate it into the final document.
I am hoping this endeavor will produce a more accurate historical document. And at the same time educate ourselves more fully about food security and how to use issues of food as a way of addressing the rood cause of hunger: poverty. And we can have a lot of fun doing so.
